Simple Easter Card

A very quick card I made this weekend. I found this ribbon on clearance at Joann's about a year ago and have been wanting to use it. It was the inspiration for the colors on the card.
The background is SU Certainly Celery that was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder (I believe it's called Daisy Chain, but not 100% sure). Happy Easter is from the the Easter 2010 Cricut Cart. It was lightly covered with Fruit Punch Stickles. The butterfly is cut from the Paisley cart and embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. The body and outline are Yellow Stickles. Yellow Stickles was also added to the center of the yellow flowers on the ribbon.
I'm going to link this to this week's Cuttlebug Spot challenge, the theme this week is wings.

Chicadees

Back in February Split Coast Stampers did a tutorial on how to make a folded paper frame card. I decided to try and here's what I came up with.
The center folded part was made with paper from Chatter Box, the Happy Day collection. The scallop square was cut with a Nestability Lg Scallop Square. The checkered paper is Cosmo Cricket, the Material Girl collection. The green card base is Old Olive by Stampin Up. The chicks stamp is from Unity Stamp Co and colored with Copic Sketch markers. Sentiment is stamped with SU Old Olive classic ink with a Studio G stamp. A rhinestone from Michael's was added to the center.
Here's another I did using a Cricut cut.
The fold on this one was made with paper from K and Co, the Berry Sweet Stack. The plaid paper is DCWV, Spring Stack. The little bunny face is from the Doodle Charms Cartridge and his face is stamped with a Peachy Keen stamp from their Animal Faces set. (it's actually the cat face.) He was adhered to the card with Dimensionals by SU. The sentiment stamp is from Studio G and stamped with SU Summer Sun classic ink. A Pink Martha Stewart Glitter marker was used to trace the bunny's ears and a cute little blue ribbon bow was used to finish it off. I forgot to add I used dimensionals under the flaps, you can see in the pictures that they don't sit flat.
These cards are really fun and easy to make. I hope you'll give it a try. The tutorial can be found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/foldedframe/

Who doesn't love a cholcolate bunny?

I know I do and I love this Chocolate Bunny stamp from Stampin Up.
The bunny was stamped on SU Close to Cocoa with Versamark then embossed with Ranger Clear embossing powder. The basket is from the Doodle Charms cart, cut at 3.5" with Coredinations White Wash paper. The grass is from Easter 2010, 3 pieces cut at 1". The little paper flowers were not in their original packaging, so I don't know who made them. The center of the flowers are yellow Stickles. The bottom paper is SU Almost Amethyst, cut at 4.25" X 1.75". The top was created with the Scallop Trim border punch, also from SU, and the ribbon is from American Crafts. Sentiment is Stampabilities, embossed with Ranger Clear embossing powder. The corners were paper pierced using the SU mat pack and a large needle. The striped background paper is K and Co, from the Itsy Bitsy Boy stack, cut at 4" X 5". The corners were done with the Scallop Trim corner punch. The solid background is SU Apricot Appeal cut at 4.25" X 5.5". The colors aren't as bright in this picture as they are in person, guess it's because I used my scanner instead of taking pictures.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your Sunday, looks like another beautiful day here!

Easter Card

Last weekend I spent many frustrating hours trying to come up with an Easter card. I finally decided to quit and just wait to see if anything came to me. Last night it did so I laid it out on the Gyspy and made it this morning.
The bunny, lamb and chicks were cut with the Easter 2010 cart. The bunny was cut @ 1" in white then colored with an SU Creamy Caramel marker. The lamb is 11/2" and the chicks are 3/4", very tiny! The doily feature from the Easter cart was used for the sentiment tag, I thought it looked like a sun. Happy Easter is a Stampabilities stamp and was stamped in SU Summer Sun then traced over with a gold Copic Spica Glitter Marker. The basket and eggs are from the Doodle Charms cart. The eggs were cut @3/4" in white then colored with various SU Bold Brights Markers. The basket is 1". The tree is from the Serenade cart, cut at 3.5". A piece of green ric rac was used to simulate grass. The background paper was a scrap that was cut at 4 X 51/4". It was attached to a piece of SU Tempting Turquoise paper cut at 41/4" X 51/2."This card has a lot of tiny cuts, but was fun putting it together.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend. Hope it's as beautiful where you are as it is here today!
